Phantom of the Opera on Broadway

The musical focuses on the naïve singer Christine Daaé as she is seduced by a disfigured musical genius known as "The Phantom of the Opera." The Phantom lives underneath the Paris Opera and terrorizes those who work there, demanding Christine be the star of the theatre's productions. When the young singer rebuffs the Phantom's advances and her lover Raoul intervenes, the Phantom sets no limits in his quest for revenge and Christine's love.
Having premiered in 1988, it is currently the longest running show in Broadway history, surpassing another Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Cats.

West Side Story transposes Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the gang-ridden streets of Manhattan in the 1950s. Instead of the Capulets and Montagues, we have the Puerto Rican Sharks versus the Anglo Jets. In place of Romeo and Juliet are Tony and Maria, two teens torn between ethnic loyalty and their intense, abrupt love for one another.
