The special collections listed below represent several of the major historical additions to the collection, but by no means encompass the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s complete holdings.

Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future Through April 23, 2019 Bold, colorful paintings by Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) are on view in this exhibition of work from the long-underrecognized innovator of abstract art.

R. H. Quaytman: + x, Chapter 34 Through April 23, 2019
Contemporary artist R. H. Quaytman has created a new group of paintings, which will be shown in conjunction with Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future.

Guggenheim Collection: Brancusi Ongoing
Sculptures by Constantin Brancusi, all from the Guggenheim’s collection, are on view alongside photographs of the modernist master in his studio.

Basquiat’s “Defacement”: The Untold Story Opens June 21
This exhibit examines Jean-Michel Basquiat’s exploration of Black identity and his protest against police brutality after the death of artist Michael Stewart.



The Guggenheim Museum is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5:30 pm, and until 8 pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The museum is wheelchair accessible except for the High Gallery. Standard manual wheelchairs are available free of charge; please ask a security guard at the entrance for assistance. No reservation necessary. Motorized wheelchairs are allowed in the museum.
