Free Summer Concerts in New York City

Summer in the city always brings the hottest artists to town! Check out this list of New York City's free summer concerts and music for 2019 - including performances by today's hottest artists and your favorite Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

Good Morning America Summer Concert Series
ABC’s Good Morning America Summer Concert Series has returned to Central Park for its eleventh year. Among the artists scheduled to perform live are Chance the Rapper, Keith Urban, Pitbull, Adam Lambert, Hozier, Ciara, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Lady Antebellum, French Montana and more.

The GMA Summer Concert Series is free, open to the public and available on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows. It will take place on Fridays from 7 am to 9 am. Viewers interested in joining GMA in Central Park are encouraged to arrive at Rumsey Playfield via the 72nd Street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6 am Eastern Time when the park opens to the public. 

Citi Concert Series on the Today Show

2019 Citi Concert Series on Today

NBC’s Today Summer Concert Series officially returned for the 24th year to Rockefeller Plaza on May 6th. Among the artists scheduled to appear this summer are the Jonas Brothers, the Chainsmokers, Kacey Musgraves, Meghan Trainor, OneRepublic, Lizzo, Thomas Rhett, Aloe Blacc, Why Don’t We, Dan + Shay, Maggie Rogers and Andy Grammer.

All shows (except when noted) will take place on Friday mornings outside of Studio 1A. Fans looking to see the concerts in person should go to 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza by 6 am Eastern Time for the best spots.  Viewing is provided on a first-come, first-served basis outside Today's window-on-the-world studio.    

FOX and Friends launches its 13th annual All American Summer Concert Series on May 24th. This year’s lineup includes Gavin DeGraw, the Eli Young Band, Michael Ray, Rodney Atkins, Jefferson Starship, Big & Rich and more.

The concerts will be held at Fox Square, which is in the plaza outside of Fox and Friends headquarters on 6th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan from 6 am to 9 am Eastern Time. Famous Dave's BBQ will once again be catering the concerts.

Metropolitan Opera Concert Series in NYC

2019 Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series

The Met’s popular free concert series in New York City parks - in all five boroughs - kicks off on Monday, June 10th at SummerStage in Central Park - featuring an evening of arias and duets from a variety of operas. The first two recitals feature audience favorites baritone Nathan Gunn, tenor Ben Bliss and soprano Ying Fang, accompanied on piano by Dan Saunders. The four subsequent recitals showcase three exciting young artists - soprano Leah Hawkins, tenor Mario Bahg and baritone Joseph Lim—with Dimitri Dover on piano.

Broadway in Bryant Park 2019 Performances

New York City's most popular Broadway and Off-Broadway shows perform their biggest hits FREE of charge in midtown Manhattan's beautiful Bryant Park. Broadway in Bryant Park will showcase numbers from recent and past Tony Award-winning musicals. Performers from Beetlejuice, Chicago, Aladdin, Lion King, Frozen, Jersey Boys, Mean Girls, Tootsie, Pretty Woman, The Prom and many more are scheduled to perform.

Performances are every Thursday from 12:30pm -1:30 pm. 


Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage is New York City’s largest free outdoor performing arts festival, bringing nearly 100 free and benefit shows to Central Park and 17 neighborhood parks throughout the five boroughs. This year’s festival will showcase 200 renowned artists and rising stars from around the world to local neighborhood parks, presenting distinctly New York genres - salsa, jazz and hip-hop -  alongside indie, reggae, Afrobeat, soul, contemporary dance and much more.

BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival 2019

This year the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival celebrates its 41st season featuring 29 performances.  The programming, reflective of Brooklyn’s eclecticism and diversity, will feature a wide array of free, world-class performances at the beautiful Prospect Park Bandshell. Winner of the Village Voice Readers’ Poll and Critics’ Picks for “Best Free Concert Series,” the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, presented by BRIC in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance, is New York’s longest-running, free outdoor performing arts festival, and takes place each summer at the Prospect Park Bandshell.

River to River Festival 2019

The Lower Manhattan Cultural Center (LMCC) presents the 18th annual River To River Festival, Downtown New York City’s completely free summer arts festival. Running from June 18th through June 29th, the performances and events will celebrate artistic and creative diversity in all its forms throughout spaces in Lower Manhattan. This year's festival encourages the discovery of what arises when we all slow down. All events are free and all are welcome.
