Vividly brought to life on the Broadway stage Lee’s debut novel To Kill a Mockingbird – a dissection of justice and tolerance in a small town in southern America - is considered one of the greatest American novels ever written. Set in the pre-civil rights era Deep South of the 1930’s the story is told through the eyes of 13 year old Scout. When Tom Robinson - a local black man - is accused of raping a white girl, Scout's lawyer father Atticus Finch takes on the case to try and give Tom a fair trial. With this decision Atticus finds himself ostracized from the community and the lives of his family put into danger. As the trial approaches, Atticus must choose whether to buckle under the mounting pressure or to stand his ground and fight for what is right.
Update: The second-year cast begins performances on November 5th including Ed Harris as lawyer Atticus Finch.
