Buy your tickets to
the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferry in advance and avoid the lengthy
ticket purchase line!
Liberty Island and Ellis Island are accessible only by ferry service. One ticket provides round trip ferry access to the grounds of the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island plus the Ellis Island Immigration Museum on Ellis Island.
It also includes complimentary audio tours for both Liberty Island and Ellis Island. It does not include Pedestal (inside monument) access however it does include access to the new Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island which opened in May 2019.

- First ferry from mainland: 8:30am
- Last ferry from mainland: 3:30pm
- Last Ferry from Liberty Island: 5:00pm
- Last Ferry from Ellis Island: 5:15pm
*Note: Operating hours are subject to change. Visitors on last mainland ferry will only be able to visit one island.
Duration
Sailing time to each island is approximately 15
minutes. If you remain on the boat for ride only (without visiting either monument)
it will be one hour and fifteen minutes. If you visit both islands the time
depends on the time you spend on both islands. There can be long waits which
can cause delays. Arrive early, especially if you have a time pass reservation.
Location
The Statue of Liberty Ferry departs from Battery Park on the
southern tip of Lower Manhattan.

Need to Know
Security
- Visitors to the Park are required to undergo airport style security screening.
- Visitors to the Monument undergo additional security screening.
- All persons and property are subject to search.
- Large bags are not allowed on Liberty or Ellis Islands.
- There are no locker facilities at the New York and New Jersey embarkation points.
- There are locker facilities on Liberty Island for Monument visitors.
- Backpacks, strollers and large umbrellas are not permitted in the Monument.
- Food (even unopened) and drinks (including water) are not allowed inside the Statue of Liberty.
- All weapons are prohibited, including: Firearms, explosives or flammables, knives or sharp objects (including tools), pepper spray and mace.
- Security is managed by the United States Park Police.
